dont spread ur misconceptions to other... rats r not worshipped in Hinduism... instead they are termed as 'Vignas' obstacles whom the Lord Ganesha (Lord of Wisdom) conquered.
It symbolically refers to the fact that obstacles can be conquered only by use of wisdom.

No Hindu scripture ask to pray or worship rats.
Feeding hungry creatures is not worshipping them
